Anna Kournikova was a Russian tennis player who in the past was considered to be the most famous female player in the sport. Kournikova was an averagely skilled singles player, but was a wildly popular doubles player. Her team together with Martina Hingis was widely praised because of its efficiency. Her fame spread across the globe due to her appearance and modeling assignments and to this date remains one of the most highly searched athletes on the internet. Kournikova was an average contemporary baseliner, moving her ball about the court at a high speed and spin. The tennis she played was defined by her powerful back with a deep, powerful groundstroke, and a willingness to approach the net whenever the opportunity came up. Kournikova is an athlete of professional level her parents hail from Moscow. Sergei Kournikov won the championship in wrestling and Alla Kournikova was an accomplished athlete. Kournikova began playing tennis when she was just five. She moved to Florida (at age 10,) in 1991, to study with the Nick Bollettieri School. Anna Sergeyevna is a Russian SFSR Soviet Union born in Moscow on the 7th of June, 1981. She was a former Russian tennis professional. She started her professional tennis career at age 14. She was among the youngest to play in the Fed Cup ever and won it in the name of Russia. When she was 15 years old this achiever reached the U.S Open and managed to get to the semifinals at Wimbledon. Her tennis career ended professionally when she was 21 due to back problems.
